Dr. Ennis' paper was published in Psycho-Oncology, a high impact factor journal in the field concerned with the psychological, social, behavioral, and ethical aspects of cancer. This sub-speciality addresses the two major psychological dimensions of cancer: the psychological responses of patients to cancer at all stages of the disease and the psychological, behavioral and social factors that may influence the disease process. Dr. Ennis' paper reviewed psychosocial interventions for Black women diagnosed with breast cancer and set important priorities for the research agenda in this field.
Dr. Ennis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Social Medicine in the College of Medicine at the Florida State University. Her mission is to build a learning and responsive healthcare system that improves care for underserved populations.
