Dr. Ennis attended the 37th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions of the Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) held in Washington, DC, from March 30 to April 2, 2016. The 2016 Annual Meeting Program featured the theme, “Behavioral Medicine at a Crossroads: 21st Century Challenges and Solutions.” Thematic areas represented in the talks will include health in all policies; healthy eating; active living; adolescent and child health; health disparities; and cancer.
Dr. Ennis' oral presentation “Racial Identity Attitudes and Health Related Quality of Life Among Black Breast Cancer Survivors” was engaged the audience and highlighted the need to move beyond phenotypic categorizations of race in order to unpack the processes by which race influences health and well-being. In addition, to Dr. Ennis' oral presentation both Lauren Hearn (4th year) and Zach Mannes (2nd year) presented poster presentations at this year’s meeting. Go iRACERS!
