Dr. Nicole Ennis receives 2016 William R. Jones Outstanding Mentor Award from the Florida Education Fund
After considering a pool of statewide candidates, the Florida Education Fund (FEF) has selected Dr. Nicole Ennis to receive the William R. Jones Outstanding Mentor Award for 2016. The William R. Jones Award is the highest honor awarded by the organization to mentors who are instrumental in meeting the mission of the organization. Dr. Ennis received the award at a special ceremony during the Annual McKnight Doctoral Fellows Conference in Tampa, Florida, on November 13, 2016. The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship program is designed to address the under-representation of minority faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Florida by increasing the pool of citizens with Ph.D. degrees qualified to teach at the college and university levels. Mentorship is a key component the overall success of the McKnight Doctoral Program.

Dr. Ennis also served on the Psychology panel for predoctoral students during the weekend to address career preparation for success in Academia. As an honoree, she received a plaque and a monetary award for her outstanding contribution to the McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program. The nomination was made by four students in the College of Public Health and Health Professions: Larry Burrell (Clinical Psychology), Allyson Diggins (Clinical Psychology), Jaylyn Clark (Clinical Psychology) and Esther Piervil (Public Health)
