This year’s theme for World AIDS Day is “Putting Ourselves to the Test: Achieving Equity to End HIV.” This theme represents the mission of ending inequities and barriers to HIV testing, prevention, and access to care.
In celebration of this year’s theme, the Florida Department of Health is offering events throughout Florida to promote awareness and encourage testing. This includes no-cost walk in testing event between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on December 1st at Florida Department of Health Citrus County at 3700 West Sovereign Path, Lecanto, FL 34461.
In addition, at the Leon County Cascades Park Capital City Amphitheatre on December 1st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., they are holding the 2nd annual Unity in our Community Health and Wellness Exhibition at 1001 South Gadsden Street to commemorate the loss of those impacting by HIV/AIDS. This event will include free products and food, live performances, and community health resources.
